Our Implementation Methodology
We will first work with you to understand your detailed goals and requirements. As needed, we’ll deliver specifications for components of the system. Then we’ll build the system. We typically perform unit testing as we build each component of the system, and we perform end-to-end system testing after all initial functionality has been built. To the extent that you need, we will deliver documentation, training and go-live support. We typically include a period of warranty support—including additional training, on-demand tech support, issue resolution and continuous system improvements—at no additional cost. We can include usability testing and user adoption support if needed.
nuTandem has extensive experience with software implementation, including project management, testing and training. Our project management services can include scope control, schedule management, change management, risk and issue management, status reports, project meetings and general communications. Testing can include functional (unit) testing and end-to-end system testing. Training can include user training and administrator training, in classroom format or train-the-trainer, onsite or via virtual methods.
We have experience with usability studies, training, user adoption and customer support. Steve Marsh will serve as the primary contact for our relationship. Steve will also be the primary trainer. Ben Brooks will serve as the project manager and primary SharePoint expert.
Ben has worked in numerous software development environments and is adept at gathering and understanding requirements from different stakeholders, drafting specifications and building solutions that bring requirements to life in an exceedingly accurate and cost-effective manner. Ben also has ample experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control, including the development, execution and reporting of software test plans and the tracking of issues and remediation.
If you like, nuTandem can deliver a general implementation plan. To the extent you require, the implementation plan can include:
- The definition of project management methodologies, roles and responsibilities
- The timing of requirements gathering, specification, setup/configuration and development/customization
- Testing methods and timing
- Risk and issue management mechanisms
- Training methods, goals/objectives, scope, audiences, evaluation methods and timing
- Continuous improvement mechanisms and user adoption strategies
- Any other implementation details that you deem necessary
Ben Brooks will serve as the primary project manager. Ben has more than a decade’s experience with software project management. Ben’s project management training includes extensive PMP training. At a previous custom software company, Ben served as the Project Manager for numerous large-scale software projects for government organizations. His responsibilities included project communication, reporting, schedule adherence, scope control, change management, artifact management and more. At nuTandem, Ben manages a steady stream of customer projects, as well as internal strategic projects to improve our own operations.
Analysis & Specification
Ben Brooks will serve as the primary business analyst. Ben has extensive experience working with various stakeholders to understand and prioritize goals, make well-educated recommendations, gather requirements and document project plans. Ben also has demonstrated experience meeting project deadlines and producing high-quality deliverables.
Ben served as the Systems Manager at GL Solutions—a company that develops and customizes government licensing management software—where he was responsible for investigating, improving and monitoring all business processes for the company’s various departments. He was responsible for managing all internal Continuous Improvement efforts, including targeted interviews and analysis to drive and assess systematic enhancements. As GL Solutions’ Systems Manager, Ben also oversaw strategic projects to update and improve the company’s flagship software products, including usability (UX/UI) studies, and the maintenance of technical specifications.
Development & Configuration
Ben has vast skills and experience with SharePoint architecture, including identifying, documenting and implementing fit-for-purpose structure for sites, subsites and apps. Ben has deep familiarity with SharePoint’s out-of-the-box configuration capabilities, as well as extensive experience extending SharePoint’s capabilities by developing custom solutions. He also has ample experience with software governance, including users, groups, permission levels, effective access control and the documentation of related rules and regulations.
Ben has developed dozens of sophisticated workflows to automate SharePoint-centric activities, such as creating, updating, promoting, moving and archiving data, assigning tasks, managing permissions and sending alerts and notifications.
Ben Brooks has wide-ranging SharePoint branding experience, including custom master pages, reusable page layouts/templates, XSL, XML, HTML, CSS, JS and graphics. If required, he specializes in Responsive Web Design (RWD) and can make SharePoint look and function perfectly on phones and tablets.
We typically perform unit testing as we build each component of the system, and we perform end-to-end system testing after all initial functionality has been built. If needed, we can provide a detailed testing plan and test result reports. We can also facilitate user testing to discover issues and identify opportunities for system improvements.
We can develop a Training Plan and deliver training sessions. We have extensive experience training software administrators and end users. When required, we will develop a detailed Training Plan to define training goals, audiences, methods and evaluation procedures, to be approved prior to training delivery.
Steve Marsh currently provides SharePoint training for most of nuTandem’s customers, and he has extensive experience planning and delivering training for SharePoint end users and administrators. Training session formats can include train-the-trainer and group session formats. nuTandem typically provides remote training sessions, but we are happy to provide training sessions on site whenever required or desirable. For remote training, we can use conference calling, screen sharing and video conferencing.
Ben Brooks also has nearly two decades’ experience planning, writing, formatting and delivering technical documentation (e.g. scope documents, workflow diagrams and functional specifications) and user documentation (e.g. user guides, administrator manuals and reference sheets). We can deliver help documents, reference sheets, technical specifications and much more. Documentation can be delivered in various formats.
Go-Live & Adoption
When you agree that we’re ready, we will make the system live and provide cutover support. We can also provide user adoption support to ensure people know how to use the system, are actually using the system, and have a mechanism to find help and request system changes. If needed, we can deliver a document that describes the go-live plan.
